Marie Blachère Gives You the Carbs You Need

In our article series “Facts” we’ll be talking with members of the coffee shop ecosystem that inspire us, from bakeries to manufacturers, consumer products, and everyone else in between. We want to get to know these folks, and we want you to, too. We’ll be asking everyone the same three questions—the answers, though, will be wildly different.

Today’s guest is Isabelle Humbert, Experience Manager of Marie Blachère in Great Neck. Isabelle has never not been a baker. She’s spent years working in bakeries both as a baker and in management, and after six years with the Marie Blachère family in France, she made the jump to the States two years ago to help launch the bakery’s New York locations, in Manhattan and Great Neck.

Marie Blachère is the crème de la crème of French baking, and New Yorkers, ever hungry for quality French boulangerie, have responded enthusiastically. Let’s hear more from Isabelle...

What is Marie Blachère best known for?

Simply put: Our high-quality products, baked fresh daily at the best prices in town. We offer our signature Marie Baguette baked at 3 different levels (soft, golden, and crispy) to satisfy all guests!

What is the first thing you baked?

My first baked good ever was crepes! I started with plain and then moved on to sweet and savory fillings.

What are you working on that no one knows about?

Well if I tell you, then it won't be a secret anymore... But we are so excited about it, we can't keep it in—we are working on a new specialty croissant that will satisfy all our plant-based friends out there!
